Good News for All Peoples
As we continue looking at how God brings together people groups, we see that His gospel is good news not just for Israel, but for all the peoples of the earth. It is an inclusive truth claim.
Jesus is the Good News
Jesus is the Good News because:
- He’s the Curse Bearer
- He’s the Judgement Bringer
- He’s the Family Builder
Sent to All Peoples
Many of us see the need for a truly inclusive community, but we’re so prone to divide ourselves into the “clean” and “unclean” peoples. Here we see that God sends us to all peoples, providing a new way to be clean that includes all the peoples of the earth.
The Church Multiplies
How can we eagerly partner with the Lord as he multiplies his church? Our passage provides us with three ways: (1) Be bold, (2) Be joined, and (3) Be fearful and comforted
Walk in the Fear of the Lord and Comfort of the Holy Spirit
How do we walk in the fear of the Lord?
- At all costs by expecting opposition and being ready and with the comfort the Holy Spirit gives.
- With one another
God’s purpose from the beginning of the Bible has been to multiply His image until it fills the earth for His glory. In this passage, we’ll see the way He does that is by multiplying His church.
Be amazed that Jesus saves.
When you lived amazed that Jesus saves, and not just in general, but saves you, then God gets the glory and you get the joy. The question our passage helps us consider is “how?” How does Jesus save such that we should live amazed? Three answers in our passage this morning:
- He confronts us with grace
- He brings us into his family
- He sends us for his glory.
How Jesus Wins
Opposition has been mounting against Jesus’ people, but how does Jesus respond? He conquers His enemies through conversion.
Be in Awe of God’s Power in Conversion
The unexpected conversion of Saul reveals the awe-inspiring power of God in conversion. The passage illustrates this by revealing that God saves, God uses people, and God adopts.

The Holy Spirit’s Guidance
