This is Why
At the midpoint of the Reach Initiative (January 2023), we will work our way through a second Reach sermon series. This sermon series is focused not specifically on generosity but four different passages that highlight the various reasons why it is our joy to pray, give, and labor to reach more people with the gospel of Jesus Christ and help them join Citylight Church.
It’s the day we’ve been waiting for with excited anticipation, it’s our Reach mid-way Commitment Sunday! Today is an incredibly significant day in our life together as Citylight Church and, as such, the BIG IDEA of our passage (Revelation 22:1-5) addresses the big question we’ve been asking ourselves for months: “WHY are we doing all this?”
We will reign with god forever!

If the question is ‘What motivates us?’ Christ’s love is why, it’s his love that controls us, it’s his love that makes us want to pour it all out for him. We are going to look at Christ’s love that controls us from three angles in our passage: (1) The proof of His love (2) The power of His love (3) The purpose of His love.
